Completed Projects of the CRA

Toho Square:

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) – Before the City became an entitlement City in 2004 the CRA assisted the City in securing another CDBG through the State of Florida. The $750,000 matching grant was awarded in June 2001. $390,000 funded Commercial Revitalization of 11 storefronts within the district. The storefronts selected were based on criteria ranging from historical value of buildings to current uses of the building. The remaining portion of the grant was utilized to upgrade the public parking lot along Pleasant Street and to create Toho Square. The square is home to many special events hosted by the Kissimmee Main Street, the Downtown Business Association, and the Downtown Kissimmee Area Council.
