Current Projects of the CRA
Historic Restoration:
The City of Kissimmee CRA has been charged with restoring Historic Downtown Kissimmee as the heart of our community. The agency is striving to establish the downtown area as a center for culture, recreation, and marketing opportunities by increasing economic development, improving infrastructure, providing visual quality through unified design and increasing residential opportunities in the downtown area. In Historic Downtown Kissimmee, the CRA is striving to build strong specialty retail, develop a usable lakefront, provide quality residential opportunities, be a major service center by providing government, medical, and professional services, as well as be a focal point for community events.
In order to reach these goals, the CRA has organized a grant program available for commercial and residential properties to assist in the restoration process. Residential grants include: Matching Façade, Matching Rehabilitation, Impact Fee Assistance, Consulting Service, Paint Voucher, and an Owner Occupancy Incentive. Commercial grants include: Matching Façade or Sign, Water & Sewer Impact Fee Assistance, Life Safety Compliance, Matching Façade Rehabilitation, and Matching Revitalization.
